rejections
The rejections are piling up, the latest is DAW, one that I was counting on. Self-publishing may be in my future but I need to learn a lot more about it...Anyone out there familiar with the process? Publishers seem to be loathe to take on anything new and what they do for authors is not so encouraging from what I hear...all in all the world is changing rapidly and we as authors need to figure out new ways of having our voices heard!

Perhaps before you self-publish, you may want to get involved in an anthology project. Being involved in OFW's anthology and in the Unlocked project (www.UnlockedProject.com) taught me a lot about self-publishing as well as marketing and everything else that goes into producing a book.
ReplyDeleteAlso you may want to work at getting some shorter works (flash fiction and short stories) published at e-zines and small publishing houses. It's one of the best ways to get started.
